The challenge
We took the original kitchen all the way down to studs and subfloor. The new layout is anchored by a single ten-foot waterfall island that seats five — we boarded up a redundant window to gain a full range wall and vented a new hood through the exterior. The finished room reads dramatic and modern: matte black cabinetry grounded by warm brass and bright white quartz, opening straight into the dining area.
